Addiction is a medical illness that can result in serious health, social, psychological, emotional, and financial consequences to individuals, their families, and the community. An untreated substance use disorder is a chronic, progressive, and often fatal disease frequently accompanied by co-occurring mental health illnesses.
The goal of all treatment is to offer supportive care, help clients stabilize in recovery, and obtain the skills necessary to achieve success in the community. Applicants are carefully evaluated for treatment, and referrals are made to other community services if necessary.
